Responding Promptly to Customer Requests (Action Wednesday/Process)

Once a Day Marketing™ featured video blog: Prompt Response to Customer Engagement

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing. Today is Action Wednesday and we going to be quick look at responding promptly to customer requests.

In this zooming world of commerce, your potential customers want to locate and engage your brand quickly and expect prompt response in return.  They make purchase decisions fast and it is essential for your product or service to be considered that you answer their inquiries immediately.

These requests might come from your website, an email, a smart phone app, an 800 call, a text or a post to one of your many social media channels.  Regardless of the point of entry, your brand must reply ASAP.  A delayed reply may diminish the strength of your brand in your customer's mind and will probably lead to lost sales.

For Action Wednesday, review your response times across all customer engagement channels and make improvements where necessary.  You'll have a lot of happy customers and, even better, more sales.

Branding a New Business Paradigm (Strategic Tuesday/Positioning)

Listen to our featured Ask Those Branding Guys radio show podcast: Branding The Elastic Enterprise
Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™.  Today is Strategic Tuesday and we are discussing the challenges of branding a new business paradigm and the importance of "elationship".

On our radio show Ask Those Branding Guys, we spoke with Dr. Nicholas Vitalari, thought leader and author of The Elastic Enterprise.  Vitalari, who has been consulting with Fortune 500 companies throughout his career, observed that some leading companies such as Google, Apple and Caterpillar were able to grow their businesses even during hard economic times.  He wondered why.  His book The Elastic Enterprise answers that question.  Hint: these companies have embarked on the elastic journey to eliminate corporate rigidity.

Ask Those Branding Guys also spoke with Vincent Wright, leading networker and brandergist.  His company Brandergy.com, is a branding hub for top business professionals.  Wright shared the importance of networking and defined "elationship", a term he coined to inspire professionals to strive for business relationships to be more than just networking but to bring joy and elation to both parties.

Enjoy the podcast.

Branding Precedes Marketing (Smart Monday/Process)

Once a Day Marketing™ featured video blog: Branding vs. Marketing - No Chicken and Egg

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™.  Today is Smart Monday and we taking a look at branding vs. marketing.

Last week I had the opportunity to present to the New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce in Albuquerque.  It was a great experience and I enjoyed sharing with the members the importance of a brand being #1 in the minds of target customers.  We also discussed branding, brand positioning, mindshare and market share.

It's clear to me that most people understand marketing but have a harder time defining branding.  Branding is the process of ensuring your desired brand identity (how you want your brand to be perceived) aligns with your customers' brand image (how they actually perceive your brand). Marketing is the consistent sharing of your messaging that conveys the unique and compelling nature of the offering.

Branding always precedes marketing and will lead to customers having a clear understanding of your brand and thinking about your product or service when it's time to make a purchase.

The Need for SEO (Digital Friday/Physical Evidence)

Once a Day Marketing™ featured video blog: SEO is the Yellow Brick Road

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™.  Today is Digital Friday and we are going to take a quick look at the importance of search engine optimization or SEO.

Search engine optimization allows your company, brand or product to be quickly and easily found online through search engines such as Google and Yahoo!  It is essential that your SEO be maximized to ensure your products are being seen by potential customers.

Your competition and other companies are continuously staking out their online turf.  You have to ensure that you have a presence to compete with them.  If the search engines don't find you or you come up on page 7 of the search, potential customers won't find you either.

In today's world, a company that has an inferior product but great SEO will probably beat out a superior product with poor SEO because potential customers locate the inferior product more easily online.  If a brand wants to remain competitive it has to be visible through SEO.

For Digital Friday, evaluate your SEO.  If you aren't coming up page 1 on the search engine, work toward identifying solutions that will enhance your SEO to become a powerful tool to drive traffic to your brand.

With Independence Day approaching, this is a perfect time for you to develop a marketing strategy for your brand centered on holidays.  There are 10 national holidays proclaimed by the US government and numerous other celebrations such as Valentine's Day, Father's Day and Mother's Day.

Begin considering how you can create marketing promotions for your business related to events on the calendar.  Determine which holidays or celebrations are a good fit for your customers and design a campaign around that theme.  Through this action you will create anticipation on the part of your customers for your next brand celebration.

A Brand is Simply Everything (Smart Monday/Positioning)

Once a Day Marketing™ featured video blog: A Brand is More Than a Product

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™.  Today is Smart Monday and we will look at the elements that comprise a brand.

Many people think a brand is a product.  They consider the qualities or attributes of the product and its uses and conclude this is the brand.  On the other side of the continuum some believe a brand is a symbol like a logo or a slogan.

A brand is a whole lot more.  It’s the personality of the company, the emotion it invokes in customers, the implied benefits of the product as well as the brand - customer relationship.  In reality, a brand is simply everything related to a company and its product or service.

Keep all of these aspects in mind and you will continue to enhance the stature and strength of your brand.
