Elements of a Great Website (Strategy)

Hello, I’m Marianne Tenenbaum, Branding Strategist at Once a Day Marketing™. Today we are discussing the elements required to build a great website for your business.

A website is often the first place potential customers will encounter your brand.  This is an opportunity to convey the brand story and let site visitors know what your company is all about.  Be authentic and connect with customers on an emotional level.  Brand personality should be reflected through high quality professional videos and photos.  Include a well-crafted narrative about why your company is in business and what sets you apart.

Speaking of narrative, don’t skimp when it comes to creating text content.  Site visitors do read it; anything you present must be well written and free of typos and grammatical errors.  The fact that attention has been paid to this level of detail will reflect favorable on the brand.

No matter the format you choose or the number of pages the website has, it should provide a good customer experience enabling users to readily find what they are looking for.  Design a site that is clear and easy to follow.

A website should include an invitation for customers to join your community as well as contribute their experiences with the brand through sharing content.  Include icons for your company’s social media sites so customers can find them and like/follow and share.

Last and perhaps most important, work with a web developer or digital marketing expert to ensure your website is optimized for searches and ready for online advertising that you are planning.

Generate Excitement for Your Brand (Strategy)

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. Today we are discussing how to generate buzz for your brand.

All businesses that interact with customers have an opportunity to generate excitement for the brand and make those interactions great customer experiences. This applies whether it is a B2B or B2C enterprise.

Crucial elements to remember are:
·      Every business has attributes that make their character unique
·      Employees / sales people are a brand’s best messengers
·      All employees are “on show” when they are engaging a customer in person, on the   phone or via presentations

To create excitement for your brand, determine what your business has to build on and develop a compelling story to share with your audience. Present what your brand is all about in a fun, engaging way will resonate with customers. Be creative! Tell a story in a way that is original, different or off-beat to ensure your brand stands out and is memorable.

Make it a priority to educate your employees about your brand story and how you want them to deliver it; provide guidelines for do’s & don’ts when they are in front of customers. Employees should be able to enthusiastically share the brand story and create a great customer experience during every interaction.

Search Engine Marketing Magic with PrestiDigital Media (Strategy)

Listen to our featured Ask Those Branding Guys radio show podcast: PrestiDigital Media
Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. On our radio show Ask Those Branding Guys, we discussed branding and marketing of a new Santa Fe media marketing business.

Joining us on-air were Demi Malnar-Frye and Devon Jackson, founders of PrestiDigital Media, a new company specializing in search engine marketing and optimization (SEO) using Google. They handle web, social media, emails (blasts and strategies) and blogs ensuring that clients understand and share their brand essence. They are making their own brand unique by naming the founders as The Maven and Menace in lieu of traditional corporate title.

PrestiDigital Media also sets themselves apart with their philosophy:  the more preparation work you do, the better your website will perform when it’s complete. Demi noted that having a website is just the beginning; analytics and data are a big consideration.

Demi shared that when it’s done well, marketing is a combination of science and art – the name PrestiDigital reflects the magic that happens when the balance of these two elements are brought into a project.

Devon emphasized that words are still an important part of your content strategy. Search algorithms reward content that is fresh, interesting and valuable with improved SEO. As a result, it is critical to update your website on a regular basis and provide a good user experience.

To promote PrestiDigital Media, Demi & Devon started by looking at their own brand and created designs and colors that reflect their backgrounds. They developed a one page website which is becoming more popular today. PrestiDigital can also be found on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

When using paid promotion, Devon discussed understanding your customer and promoting content that is specific, such as “Tune in to PrestiDigital Media on Ask Those Branding Guys Today at 11:00am.”

PrestiDigital Media’s hidden gem for businesses to leverage: when researching a blog, reach out to the experts in the industry when you are developing the story. Once the blog is posted, contact those experts and ask them to assist you in cross-promoting the article.
