Buzzing About The Celestial Bee Brand (Strategy)

Listen to our featured Ask Those Branding Guys radio show podcast: The Celestial Bee

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. On our radio show Ask Those Branding Guys, we discussed branding and marketing of a unique Santa Fe wellness business.

Joining us on-air was Lauren Kendall – practitioner and owner of The Celestial Bee, offering the therapeutic and healing benefits of bee venom therapy; which is especially effective for Lyme disease, arthritis, and nerve-related illnesses. Lauren also keeps bees in hives across 3 different yards in the Santa Fe area.

Lauren became interested in bees and bee therapy when she was farming on the east coast and contracted Lyme disease.  On a trip through Santa Fe she found herself in a bee yard as was stung by a honey bee.  After that she noticed the symptoms of her Lyme disease began to improve.  This piqued her interest in bee venom therapy and lead to her becoming a Hoshindo practitioner.

In addition to her practice, Lauren runs a 2-acre farm and farmer’s market at the Arroyo Vino restaurant where she also keeps some of her bees.  The farm produces much of the produce for the restaurant and is part of Lauren’s effort to improve the health of the bee population.  The Celestial Bee has a line of bee related products for clients, which are available at the farmers market and the Hive Market in Santa Fe.

The Celestial Bee clients are mainly people suffering from Lyme disease who have heard about Lauren via word of mouth and sought her out. One of Lauren’s branding challenges is ensuring customers believe in the treatment and trust the process.

Lauren is in the now making changes to reshape her brand and tap into the national market for her services.  She plans to increase outbound content on her website and Facebook and Instagram sites.
Those Branding Guys shared the ideas of incorporating the plight of the bees as a socially-conscious element of her business as well as creating a regular blog.  Lauren’s goal is to eventually take the business to an international level.

Enjoy the show.
