Generate Excitement for Your Brand (Strategy)

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. Today we are discussing how to generate buzz for your brand.

All businesses that interact with customers have an opportunity to generate excitement for the brand and make those interactions great customer experiences. This applies whether it is a B2B or B2C enterprise.

Crucial elements to remember are:
·      Every business has attributes that make their character unique
·      Employees / sales people are a brand’s best messengers
·      All employees are “on show” when they are engaging a customer in person, on the   phone or via presentations

To create excitement for your brand, determine what your business has to build on and develop a compelling story to share with your audience. Present what your brand is all about in a fun, engaging way will resonate with customers. Be creative! Tell a story in a way that is original, different or off-beat to ensure your brand stands out and is memorable.

Make it a priority to educate your employees about your brand story and how you want them to deliver it; provide guidelines for do’s & don’ts when they are in front of customers. Employees should be able to enthusiastically share the brand story and create a great customer experience during every interaction.

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. On our radio show Ask Those Branding Guys, we discussed branding and marketing of a Santa Fe organization that builds global citizenship.

Joining us on-air was Sandy Campbell, Executive Director of Santa Fe Council on International Relations (CIR). Founded in 1965 to assist foreign visitors, CIR has grown rapidly in recent years, both expanding and enhancing its activities. Their mission is to connect New Mexico with the world by engaging and educating people to become responsible global citizens.

Sandy shared that good global citizens have awareness of world issues, take responsibility for other human beings and the planet and makes choices that support a sustainable future for the world.

Education is a large part of the Council on International Relations focus and includes such offerings as an upcoming summit on human rights. Other programs highlight educational opportunities for high school students and speaking events that are open to the public where participants can gain insights from a wide range of international speakers.

Working with a State Department grant, Santa Fe Council on International Relations brings about 250 visitors to Northern New Mexico annually. CIR's network of volunteers show them the incredible diversity of Northern New Mexico and get the opportunity to learn from these diverse individuals in return. Visitors come for various reasons and CIR connects them to their area of interest whether that is learning how government functions, autonomous Native-American pueblos or other areas.

To gain awareness for the CIR brand they have been working extensively with high school students and young professional assisting them to understand their place in the global community. These target groups will be working in a more globalized world and will need different tools to be successful in navigating this environment; embracing and celebrating the diversity among us is a key factor.

Search Engine Marketing Magic with PrestiDigital Media (Strategy)

Listen to our featured Ask Those Branding Guys radio show podcast: PrestiDigital Media
Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. On our radio show Ask Those Branding Guys, we discussed branding and marketing of a new Santa Fe media marketing business.

Joining us on-air were Demi Malnar-Frye and Devon Jackson, founders of PrestiDigital Media, a new company specializing in search engine marketing and optimization (SEO) using Google. They handle web, social media, emails (blasts and strategies) and blogs ensuring that clients understand and share their brand essence. They are making their own brand unique by naming the founders as The Maven and Menace in lieu of traditional corporate title.

PrestiDigital Media also sets themselves apart with their philosophy:  the more preparation work you do, the better your website will perform when it’s complete. Demi noted that having a website is just the beginning; analytics and data are a big consideration.

Demi shared that when it’s done well, marketing is a combination of science and art – the name PrestiDigital reflects the magic that happens when the balance of these two elements are brought into a project.

Devon emphasized that words are still an important part of your content strategy. Search algorithms reward content that is fresh, interesting and valuable with improved SEO. As a result, it is critical to update your website on a regular basis and provide a good user experience.

To promote PrestiDigital Media, Demi & Devon started by looking at their own brand and created designs and colors that reflect their backgrounds. They developed a one page website which is becoming more popular today. PrestiDigital can also be found on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

When using paid promotion, Devon discussed understanding your customer and promoting content that is specific, such as “Tune in to PrestiDigital Media on Ask Those Branding Guys Today at 11:00am.”

PrestiDigital Media’s hidden gem for businesses to leverage: when researching a blog, reach out to the experts in the industry when you are developing the story. Once the blog is posted, contact those experts and ask them to assist you in cross-promoting the article.

5 Tips for Marketing on Mobile Devices (Strategy)

Hello, I’m Marianne Tenenbaum, Branding Strategist, for Once a Day Marketing™. We are discussing critical elements for effective marketing on mobile devices.

In today’s environment it is more important than ever to connect with your target market through the channels where they are receiving information; that means mobile devices. In the past we have discussed the gap between the amount of time users spend on mobile devices and the dollars spent to reach them via this channel. Now we’ll focus on what makes a great mobile web or in-app advertisement.

Mobile web or in-app ads should:

       Be innovative

       Integrate into customer habits

Provide a unique experience to connect with your brand

       Deliver brand story with video

       Include a call to action

The television program Homeland, McDonalds and Taxi Trails (Stockholm) all have created memorable ads/experiences in this space.

When you are considering how to best allocate your marketing dollars, try creating a campaign that will reach your audience where they are likely to be.
