CLC Pecans: Growing a Strong Brand

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. On our radio show That Branding Guy™, we discussed branding and marketing challenges of agriculture in New Mexico.

Joining us on the show were Tami and Wade Cavitt – owners of CLC Pecans located in Hobbs, New Mexico. Tami and Wade acquired an existing orchard of 1,000 trees about three years ago and have both a wholesale and retail business segments.

CLC Pecans differentiates through focusing on a high-quality product. They feed, water and manage their crop to produce the best pecans for both their wholesale and retail customers. Tami shared that CLC knows how important great customer service and experience are and they strive to deliver that in ever transaction.

Pecan growers in New Mexico do have an organization which Wade would like to see foster more cooperation among growers, he believes there are many advantages when smaller growers work together to share expenses. Wade also feels that as a whole the pecan industry in New Mexico should be advertising in a more current, hip manner to attract a broader audience.

In Santa Fe you can find Tami and Wade at the Railyard Farmers Market where they offer samples of their product to entice customers to make a purchase.

Tami and Wade have a great vision for the future of CLC Pecans. They would love to become a destination and provide experiences for visitors seeking to immerse themselves in a beautiful outdoor setting or an agricultural tourism experience.

Enjoy the show!
