Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. Today we are discussing how even small
gestures can reinforce a brand in the mind of customers.
We have said many times that a brand resides in the mind
of the customer and is comprised of simply everything. When you consider your
brand and the elements that support it, whether in a brick and mortar location,
in print or online, don’t forget about the less obvious items that will stick
with customers when they see them.
For example, on a recent visit to a local establishment
called Angel’s Bakery & Café, there were a number of decorative items that
aligned with the brand. One in particular caught my attention. If you look
closely at the photo, you will notice that the shape of the lighting on the
wall mural form the shape of a heart around the restaurant's logo.
Clever touches such as this convey the essence of the
brand and reinforce the brand message. They also tell customers that you have
put thought into the space, website or advertisement to enhance their
experience with your brand. Paying this kind of attention to detail goes a long
way to consumers recalling your brand favorably.
When you are ready to enhance your store, ads or website,
keep this important point in mind and determine how you can cleverly update
items to be more reflective of the brand.
