Listen to our featured Ask Those Branding Guys radio show podcast: Rustic Pathway for Travel
Education
Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once
a Day Marketing™. On our radio show Ask
Those Branding Guys, we discussed branding and marketing of an education
travel company.
Joining us on-air was Brielle Friedman, Marketing
Director of Rustic Pathways. Working at the intersection of education, travel
and philanthropy, Rustic Pathways offers education and service travel programs
to students. Their mission is to empower students through innovative and
responsible travel experiences to positively impact lives and communities
around the world.
Rustic Pathways focuses on providing teenagers with a
wide array of itineraries to challenge themselves and get outside their comfort
zone. This enables teens to discover more about themselves and what they want
to do in college and in life
To differentiate, Rustic Pathways brings students to
off-the-beaten-path locations that are not readily accessible on their own. Programs
are intentionally designed to help participants process what they are learning
and determine what they are taking away from the experience.
Their target market is students from all types of
backgrounds who are seeking the experience Rustic Pathways has to offer; they
share a desire to learn and make a positive impact on the world. The website
organizes offering by area of interest to help students get started. The most
popular category is the change-maker/critical issue program. Right now, young
people are more interested in world-wide events and finding solutions for
global issues.
Brielle shared that transparency and authenticity is very
important to young audiences. To get their message out, Rustic Pathways has an
outreach team that promotes directly in schools, offers in-home program
overviews and assigns program advisors to assist with the end-to-end process
for potential participants expressing interest via the website.
To stand out in the clutter of marketing material, Rustic
Pathways harnesses the power of program alumni as a strong team of brand
ambassadors. The brand also evolves constantly based on changes in the market
and audience interests.
Enjoy the show!
